Do you remember that Pink Floyd song called Time on that wonderful Album Dark Side of the Moon? Gawd I’m giving away my age here! Well yeah I’m 44 and I love it. I don’t wanna be 16 again. But I’m wandering off the point again
I realise more and more each day that time is most valuable asset- because time is all you’ve got if you haven’t got time you’ve got nothing. When your time has run out- you’re dead and that’s it. Maybe there is a life after death but what about now? This time, this moment. Time is ticking away, read the Pink Floyd lyrics with my comments.
Time by Pink Floyd from the Album Dark Side of the Moon
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day,
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way - are you guilty of this?
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town.
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way - no you aren’t are you? cos if you are I feel sorry for you- wake up now!Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today - don’t kill time today, live it, savor it enjoy it and make the most of it. Take action on doing something.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you- Uuooh uuh this is whereI see panic set in people trying to “make it” financially because panic about money has struck them, never mind things like not having lived to your full potential. Scary!
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun - Well not to late, I believe in that saying today is the first day of the rest of your life. And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to deathEvery year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d have something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
Yeah treasure your time, use it wisely. Teach your kids time being an assest. I won’t tolerate boredness. There is yourself to discover, a world to befriend, piles of abundance to gather and love galore - just waiting. Do it now. Write that book, sing that song. Do it. Make the time.
And you know what I think is great?
Seeing a Pink Floyd performance. It’s wonderful to see aged men still playing electric guitar - men that have lived doing what they love and are still doing it. Now how many people can say they do what they love? No excuses please.
And if you don’t know who Pink Floyd are or don’t own an album then now’s the time to investigate. Pink Floyd is timeless. My pubertising 13 year olds even appreciate them.

The payment of procrastination
Check out those above items and figure out what you’re paying by procrastinating. There are emotional costs. Health costs. Relationship costs. Financial costs. Time costs. Self-image costs.
Seriously look at what you’re paying long term by not doing what you should be doing.
If you are truthful, you’ll know that your proocrastination could be taking from 5 years to as many as 40 years off your life.
That is because people who put off living a healthy lifestyle and who are petrified of doctors are today dying of cancers, heart disease and other maladies in their 40’s, 30’s and younger… all senselessly.
You probably also acknowledged that your career and finances have suffered. Because if you are not a true do-it-now person, your employer or your prospective customers aren’t throwing money at your feet. And if you’ve put off investing for the future, you’ve lost a whole lot of compound interest… thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands or more.
If you are a procrastinator, and you are really up front with yourself, you know now that your relationships have suffered. You don’t have as many friends as you’d like. Because when you procrastinate doing things that affect others (and almost everything you do affects other people in one way or another), there is a loss of trust and closeness.
So the procrastinating habit puts a negative mark on your character.
It negatively affects your self-image.
Procrastination is a mental blocker, it means your subconsciuos mind and conscious mind aren’t in agreement about what should be done.
It’s not the end of the world because you can change it quite simply by reprogramming that rebellios part of you.
