I just read on Seth Godin’s blog, you are reading Seth’s blog I hope, that fat salaries are a marketing hype.
It’s much like what the head hunters do. They offer jobs in the classified sections that don’t really exist. I know this because my friend is a well known head hunter.
They do this to create a successful image to the competition. Also because they like to have a pool of talent on their books for just in case.
It seems pretty unfair – you spend hours updating your resume. Organising a fresh pic of yourself . And also getting your hopes up. But zero in on reality the job doesn’t exist.
It’s the same with the fat salaries – those companies believe they won’t get talent if they don’t pay well. Quite ridiculous really. It just prooves that people are so locked up in their competitve thinking which is based on fear. Fear of being a looser, fear of landing up in the poor house. Fear of being a nobody. Who wants to be a nobody?
Even for a seasoned self observer of my thoughts and actions I find myself slipping into the competitive mode at times. I know I’ve entered that mode when I get that anxious feeling. I’m just so pleased I’ve learnt to recognise it and can get out of there quickly.
Truth is I don’t really spend time politicising and complaining. I’ve been there, done that and know that just leads to frustration.
Actually I don’t care how much the bankers are getting paid, even if it is my tax money. I’ve got to pay it anyway and if the government thinks thats what they have to do with my money, well then I’ll be looking out for another party to vote for at election time. In the meanwhile I’m happy that I’m not caught up in any bodys plan. And seriously I’d rather be in a position to pay tax than not pay any. It tells me I’m earning money and not dependant on hand outs.
And by the way if you want to learn about how to rid yourself of fear based competitve thinking then go to Rebecca Fine’s Science of Getting Rich Network, get the FREE Science of Getting Rich Book, and do the 30 day prosperity course. Honestly, it’s a great beginners course on mastering the law of attraction. It’s all based on Wallace Wattles Science of Getting Rich. The best part about it is that you choose what to pay. Yip you choose. So you decide if you’re paying 10 bucks or 2000. If that isn’t fair then I don’t know what is.

I’ve been included in taxes for longer then I care to acknowledge, both on the personal side (all my employed lifetime!!) and from a legal viewpoint since satisfying the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve supplied a lot of advice and corrected a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please uphold the good work – the more individuals know the better they’ll be equipped to cope with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
