This was written by an unknown author and gave me a lot to think about.
The older I get, the more I enjoy Saturday mornings. Perhaps it’s the quiet solitude that comes with being the first to rise, or maybe it’s the unbounded joy of not having to be at work. Either way, the first few hours of a Saturday morning are most enjoyable.
I’m a Ham radio operator and spend some time working with radios and electronics. So when I heard this story it really made me think! I hope that you will find some application in your own life as well…
A few weeks ago, I was shuffling toward the basement shack with a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and the morning paper in the other. What began as a typical Saturday morning, turned into one of those lessons that life seems to hand you from time to time. Let me tell you about it.
I turned the dial up into the phone portion of the band on my ham radio in order to listen to a Saturday morning swap net. Along the way, I came across an older sounding chap, with a tremendous signal and a golden voice. You know the kind, he sounded like he should be in the broadcasting business. He was telling whoever he was talking with something about “a thousand marbles.”
I was intrigued and stopped to listen to what he had to say.
“Well, Tom, it sure sounds like you’re busy with your job.
I’m sure they pay you well but it’s a shame you have to be away from home and your family so much. Hard to believe a young fellow should have to work sixty or seventy hours a week to make ends meet. Too bad you missed your daughter’s dance recital.”
He continued, “Let me tell you something Tom, something that has helped me keep a good perspective on my own priorities.”
And that’s when he began to explain his theory of “a thousand marbles.”
“You see, I sat down one day and did a little arithmetic.
The average person lives about seventy-five years. I know, some live more and some live less, but on average, folks live about seventy-five years.”
“Now then, I multiplied 75 times 52 and I came up with 3900 which is the number of Saturdays that the average person has in their entire lifetime. Now stick with me Tom, I’m getting to the important part.”
“It took me until I was fifty-five years old to think about all this in any detail,” he went on, “and by that time I had lived through over twenty-eight hundred Saturdays. I got to thinking that if I lived to be seventy-five, I only had about a thousand of them left to enjoy.”
“So I went to a toy store and bought every single marble they had. I ended up having to visit three toy stores to roundup 1000 marbles. I took them home and put them inside of a large, clear plastic container right here in the shack next to my gear. Every Saturday since then, I have taken one marble out and thrown it away.”
“I found that by watching the marbles diminish, I focused more on the really important things in life. There is nothing like watching your time here on this earth run out to help get your priorities straight.”
“Now let me tell you one last thing before I sign-off with you and take my lovely wife out for breakfast. This morning, I took the very last marble out of the container. I figure if I make it until next Saturday then I have been given a little extra time. And the one thing we can all use is a little more time.”
“It was nice to meet you Tom, I hope you spend more time with your family, and I hope to meet you again here on the band. 75 year Old Man, this is K9NZQ, clear and going QRT, good morning!”
You could have heard a pin drop on the band when this fellow signed off. I guess he gave us all a lot to think about. I had planned to work on the antenna that morning, and then I was going to meet up with a few hams to work on the next club newsletter. Instead, I went upstairs and woke my wife up with a kiss.
“C’mon honey, I’m taking you and the kids to breakfast.”
“What brought this on?” she asked with a smile.
“Oh, nothing special, it’s just been a long time since we spent a Saturday together with the kids. Hey, can we stop at a toy store while we’re out? I need to buy some marbles.”

Byron katie has such a good way of ending the internal suffering which a lot of us tend to impose upon our selves.
I love the way she handles these situations. She calls them enquirys.
It’s worth watching the video and then going to her website and downloading a mini sample of her book “The Work”.
Yes I’ve done it.

Internet Maketing, Blogging, You Tube, Web 2.0…..
Seems like just everybody is swinging along making a fortune on the Internet. I’ve only just begun to wake up to the opportunity. Observing and heeding alll the guru advice I realise more and more the incredible chances that are out there. As I mentioned on the Sweetie Blog Frank Kern’s videos have been eye opening. You just need to follow the advice. Dang. So easy you just gotta want it badly enough so that you’ll get off your bum and do it.
Of course it’s not that easy especially when you’re surrounded by skeptics. Those are usually the ones closest to you. The unbelievers – you know the ones that say wake up and get a real job. A job where you trade your time for muney. Possibly even have to leave your home.
Why even have a house and a place you love if you go out to slave away each day? I’ve always wanted something better for myself since I was a kid. I couldn’t accept the information that was being pushed down my throat that “Life sucks and then you die”. That to me just seemed like a cruel joke.
When I spoke about my aspirations the people that were doing their best for me, commonly known as parents (God, I love them) I was told it’s good to learn something which will be useful to society. Don’t get me wrong Dr’s, Teachers, Advertising specialists all have their place. And as for the cruel joke part, I was told to not take it personally. But I did. Very.
I myself was in the advertising and movie industry for years. I’ve had the priviledge of working with wonderful people.
But the stress of being away from home albeit often in the most gorgeous locations was not ideal anymore after 2 miniture people surfaced into my reality.
So going from a job and here and there to sometimes having very little I had to readjust.
Obviously I began searching for information on how to make life more fun and rewarding and to be there for my little mensches. So at about the same time I discovered the metaphysical side of life and the internet dream things looked like life could really be a joy.
I am amazed and grateful for all the excellent information out there. It only requires listening, focusing and implementing the stuff you learn about to see how you can get e-mails telling you you’ve just made a buck. Gotta love it!

Do you remember that Pink Floyd song called Time on that wonderful Album Dark Side of the Moon? Gawd I’m giving away my age here! Well yeah I’m 44 and I love it. I don’t wanna be 16 again. But I’m wandering off the point again
I realise more and more each day that time is most valuable asset- because time is all you’ve got if you haven’t got time you’ve got nothing. When your time has run out- you’re dead and that’s it. Maybe there is a life after death but what about now? This time, this moment. Time is ticking away, read the Pink Floyd lyrics with my comments.
Time by Pink Floyd from the Album Dark Side of the Moon
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day,
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way - are you guilty of this?
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town.
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way - no you aren’t are you? cos if you are I feel sorry for you- wake up now!Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today - don’t kill time today, live it, savor it enjoy it and make the most of it. Take action on doing something.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you- Uuooh uuh this is whereI see panic set in people trying to “make it” financially because panic about money has struck them, never mind things like not having lived to your full potential. Scary!
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun - Well not to late, I believe in that saying today is the first day of the rest of your life. And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to deathEvery year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d have something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
Yeah treasure your time, use it wisely. Teach your kids time being an assest. I won’t tolerate boredness. There is yourself to discover, a world to befriend, piles of abundance to gather and love galore – just waiting. Do it now. Write that book, sing that song. Do it. Make the time.
And you know what I think is great?
Seeing a Pink Floyd performance. It’s wonderful to see aged men still playing electric guitar – men that have lived doing what they love and are still doing it. Now how many people can say they do what they love? No excuses please.
And if you don’t know who Pink Floyd are or don’t own an album then now’s the time to investigate. Pink Floyd is timeless. My pubertising 13 year olds even appreciate them.
Do you see yourself here?

 The payment of procrastination
Check out those above items and figure out what you’re paying by procrastinating. There are emotional costs. Health costs. Relationship costs. Financial costs. Time costs. Self-image costs.
Seriously look at what you’re paying long term by not doing what you should be doing.
If you are truthful, you’ll know that your proocrastination could be taking from 5 years to as many as 40 years off your life.
That is because people who put off living a healthy lifestyle and who are petrified of doctors are today dying of cancers, heart disease and other maladies in their 40′s, 30′s and younger… all senselessly.
You probably also acknowledged that your career and finances have suffered. Because if you are not a true do-it-now person, your employer or your prospective customers aren’t throwing money at your feet. And if you’ve put off investing for the future, you’ve lost a whole lot of compound interest… thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands or more.
If you are a procrastinator, and you are really up front with yourself, you know now that your relationships have suffered. You don’t have as many friends as you’d like. Because when you procrastinate doing things that affect others (and almost everything you do affects other people in one way or another), there is a loss of trust and closeness.
So the procrastinating habit puts a negative mark on your character.
It negatively affects your self-image.
Procrastination is a mental blocker, it means your subconsciuos mind and conscious mind aren’t in agreement about what should be done.
It’s not the end of the world because you can change it quite simply by reprogramming that rebellios part of you.

I’m not the most focused person on the planet. In fact somes I battle to stay focused. Take small things like Twitter or Facebook. Excellent tools that can be used for marketing, or even blogging. Then why is it so darn difficult to stay focused doing simple things like blogging?
I’m using only myself as an example here. I love writing. I jot down things all the time. Now if I were to type these notes into my blog they’d probabally make for interesting reading. And i dare say that they may even help some individuals have an AHA moment if you know what I mean.
I reckon my biggest blocker is fear. I can’t quite pinpoint the exact fear. Is it the fear of failing, or the fear of coming across like an idiot?
Perhaps I should just stop comparing my creative dribblings to what others do. Some blogs are so well written and informative. Whose to say that mine isn’t, hey? maybe it’s an inferiority complex.
I’ve discovered though that the main thing to staying on target is to get a clear vision of what you want and keep refining that vision until it just feels so perfect that you can’t but help to follow through.
Myself I’ve been blogging on and off for 2 years now. Sometimes in a burst of inspiration I’ll do it regurlary for 2 weeks and then those 2 weeks fade into 2 months. This is not good, these habits need to be dissolved.
I’ve always known that there is a fortune to be made in the internet- okay let’s get real, at least a decent income. An income that can be earned from home. I’ve read all the e-books, joined the membership sites of list building, traffic generating and bla, bla…..
Now it’s about doing it. Just getting a laser sharp focus and DOING it. Just do it.
How does your focus rate?
Some times we loose focus because our vision is not quite on target with what we really want so our subconscious mind keeps us from getting what we want till we hit on the right vision. (I read all this stuff whilst searching for my blockers).
The same principle thats behind procrastination – loosing focus is a form of procrastination. It’s a thing that stops you from going out and striking your target. You know you should be doing something to hit on the target but you don’t. Then you miss your target and you land up feeling like a failure berating your self.

I discovered an amazing e-book by Stuart Lichtman.
The book it’s self has a title which at first came across as kind of cheesy. But I’m so glad that this didn’t hold me back from reading further.
When I began reading testimonials from my favorite mentors I knew I was onto some thing.
In fact I could hardly contain my excitement.  I was happy to pay the price of $79,50
Here’s what Jim Edwards has to say:
“Stuart’s technique imprinted my goal indelibly on my subconscious mind. I don’t think about it, but it’s always there. Everything I’m doing is measured by whether or not I’m moving toward or against my goal. If I’m not doing something moving me towards my goal, my subconscious gets me back on course.
“This is truly a breakthrough for me personally. I am 100% certain I will achieve a bigger financial goal in a shorter time frame than I would have ever thought possible before I learned this technique.
The only negative about this method is, it’s so straightforward, some people may actually discount its power!”

I’ll explain it to you as best as I can.
Basically Stuart asks you to keep writing your vision and editing till it feels just perfect – like part of your life. It’s like getting in touch with yourself.
Like having a warm shower in the morning – I love my showers. I hope you get the drift of what I’m getting across.
It’s a long process, not just some little exercise you can do in 15 minutes. You have to put time aside for this to be able to do it properly. Wait for your kids to go to school before you start.
The e-book comes with audios which literally walk you through the process, but as I said make time.
Aaah, that cheesy title:
How to Get Lots of Money for Anything Fast

Here’s what Jack Canfield has to say:
“I strongly recommend this book. It contains keys to success that will guide you past obstacles you thought were insurmountable. I’ve known Stuart Lichtman a long time; his material gets people results. If you have big goals and you’re looking for that one ‘missing piece’ to help you achieve them, read this book and put its solid ideas to work for you.”

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”
The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, “Don’t you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside?
The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They’re all for you, Daddy.”
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.
Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother used to talk to it. Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person her name was “Information Please” and there was nothing she did not know. “Information Please” could supply anybody’s number and the correct time.
My first personal experience with this genie-in-the-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor.
Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there didn’t seem to be any reason in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway.
The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the foot stool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear.
“Information Please,” I said into the mouthpiece just above my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear.
“Information”
“I hurt my finger…” I wailed into the phone. The tears came readily enough now that I had an audience.
“Isn’t your mother home?” came the question.
“Nobody’s home but me,” I blubbered.
“Are you bleeding?” the voice asked.
“No,” I replied. “I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts.”
“Can you open your icebox?” she asked. I said I could.
“Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your finger,” said the voice.
After that, I called “Information Please” for everything. I asked her for help with my geography and she told me where Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math. She told me my pet chipmunk, that I had caught in the park just the day before, would eat fruit and nuts. Then, there was the time Petey, our pet canary died. I called “Information Please”
and told her the sad story. She listened, then said the usual things grown ups say to soothe a child. But I was unconsoled. I asked her, “Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?” She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, “Paul, always remember that there are other worlds to sing in.”
Somehow I felt better.
Another day I was on the telephone. “Information Please.”
“Information,” said the now familiar voice.
“How do you spell fix?” I asked.
All this took place in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the country to Boston. I missed my friend very much.
“Information Please” belonged in that old wooden box back home and I somehow never thought of trying the tall, shiny new phone that sat on the table in the hall. As I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and perplexity, I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.
A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put down in Seattle I had about half-an-hour or so between planes. I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my sister, who lived there now.
Then, without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, “Information, please.”
Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well.
“Information.”
I hadn’t planned this, but I heard myself saying, ” Could you please tell me how to spell fix?”
There was a long pause. Then came the soft spoken answer, “I guess your finger must have healed by now.”
I laughed, “So it’s really still you,” I said. “I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time.”
“I wonder,” she said, “if you know how much your calls meant to me. I never had any children and I used to look forward to your calls.”
I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister.
“Please do,” she said. “Just ask for Sally.”
Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice answered,”Information.”
I asked for Sally. “Are you a friend?” she said.
“Yes, a very old friend,” I answered.
“I’m sorry to have to tell you this,” she said. “Sally had been working part time the last few years because she was sick. She died five weeks ago.”
Before I could hang up she said, “Wait a minute. Is your name Paul?”
“Yes.”
“Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in case you called. Let me read it to you.” The note said, “Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in.
He’ll know what I mean.”
I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

I have a friend named Monty Roberts who
owns a horse ranch in San Ysidro. He has let me use his house to put on fund-raising events to raise money for youth at risk programs.
The last time I was there he introduced me by saying, “I want to tell you why I let Jack use my horse. It all goes back to a story about a young man who was the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go from stable to stable, race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As a result, the boy’s high school career was continually interrupted. When he was a senior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.
“That night he wrote a seven-page paper describing his goal of someday owning a horse ranch. He wrote about his dream in great detail and he even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch, showing the location of all the buildings, the stables and the track. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4,000-square-foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch.
“He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day he handed it in to his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front page was a large red F with a note that read, `See me after class.’
“The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, `Why did I receive an F?’
“The teacher said, `This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. You have no money. You come from an itinerant family. You have no resources. Owning a horse ranch requires a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for the original breeding stock and later you’ll have to pay large stud fees. There’s no way you could ever do it.’ Then the teacher added, `If you will rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider your grade.’
“The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He asked his father what he should do. His father said, `Look, son, you have to make up your own mind on this. However, I think it is a very important decision for you.’ “Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no changes at all.
He stated, “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my dream.”
Monty then turned to the assembled group and said, “I tell you this story because you are sitting in my 4,000-square-foot house in the middle of my 200-acre horse ranch. I still have that school paper framed over the fireplace.” He added, “The best part of the story is that two summers ago that same schoolteacher brought 30 kids to camp out on my ranch for a week.” When the teacher was leaving, he said, “Look, Monty, I can tell you this now.
When I was your teacher, I was something of a dream stealer.
During those years I stole a lot of kids’ dreams.
Fortunately you had enough gumption not to give up on yours.”
“Don’t let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.”
In examining the mental patterns (beliefs, thoughts, attitudes, emotions) of the most successful people in every area of life and in every field, one of the most common patterns that stand out as completely different from “average” people is the automatic mental images that flow through their consciousness every moment of the day.
Every one of us… you… me, everyone who ever lived does the same thing mentally hundreds of times every hour. We see movies and pictures in our minds. We act on the movies we see in our minds and on the imagined conversations we hear in our minds.
- When you succeed… -
So, whenever you do what you are supposed to do, whenever your words, decisions and actions are right on, you saw and heard it happening ahead of time… maybe only seconds ahead of time… maybe you saw it repeatedly hours, days, weeks or months before… and if you CONSISTENTLY do something well you have successful images (storyboards), movies and conversations “crossing your mind” all the time.
- When you fail? -
Right, you most probably saw bad actions, you imagined bad decisions and imagined bad outcomes… and you rode that mental track to failure.
Put your success on autopilot…
How?
By releasing the nagative pictures and onstalling positive ones! Easier than you think.
Hey if I did it, then believe me so can you!

Doing research in google trends I noticed that people are looking for information on how to get sexy. It got me questioning what exactly did they want to know about it. They could be keeping watch for how to get sexy legs, hair, figure, teeth looking out on how to get sexy attitude in general.
I decided to first research the word sex in the dictionary. Seriously I never looked up that word before -I always took it for granted that the word meant coitus but I found out the following:
The dictionary describes the word sex as a noun and it means :
-either the male or female division of a species, esp. as differentiated with reference to the reproductive functions.
- the sum of the structural and functional differences by which the male and female are distinguished, or the phenomena or behavior dependent on these differences.
- the instinct or attraction drawing one sex toward another, or its manifestation in life and conduct.
The word Coitus is listed underneath the above phrases with a link to the explanation of the coitus word.
Then I examined the word sexy.
And found this – sex-y – adjective, sex – i – er, sex – i – est
- concerned predominantly or excessively with sex; risqué: a sexy novel.
- sexually interesting or exciting; radiating sexuality: the sexiest professor on campus.
- excitingly appealing; glamorous: a sexy new car.
I’m assuming then that folks are wanting to establish how to get sexy so they come across as excitingly appealing to other people. Let’s get honest here people that are excitingly appealing to other people do have more success in life.
But what makes is a person sexy then?
Magazines are full of ideas on how to get sexy.
An example is that womens magazines claim that a mane of long hair is sexy for men and mens magazines suggest that a six pack is sexy for women.
I like to believe I’m a worldly woman so from my point of view more brawn than brains won’t cut it for me.
Let’s take Richard Branson as an example – he doesn’t have a six pack, but he sure isn’t physically ugly. I love what Ivana Trump said about him, “Richard is good looking and very smart, which is sexy to start with. He also makes a billion dollars before breakfast. And still knows how to have funâ€. Having had the privilege and honour of working with Sir Richard Branson on his virgin money launch in South Africa I agree whole heartedly with her.
My personal recommendations on how to get sexy: (Opinions vary but I will consider you sexy if you can master these tips!)
- Cultivate your personality.
- Develop a sense of humour.
- Dress so that your individual style shines out – sexy does not mean sleazy.
- Get rich – forget what you were taught. Just to make it clear I would like to mention that some people have the idea that being poor is what God wants. This is wrong . In the Bible it says “Thou shalt not love money more than Godâ€. Once you realise that money is merely a means of exchange and does not smell either bad or good you are on the way to becoming sexy..
- Get healthy – excuse the cliché but your body is the house of your soul.
- Stop whining – it brings every body down.
- Quit cigarettes – yuck, they stink. The smell of old ashtray clings even more too expensive after shave and perfume.
- Stay sober – Being drunk is no excuse for getting sexy and doing something that’s regrettable in the morning.
- Be a friend, Zig Ziglar, one of America’s leading coaches in the personal development industry is quoted to have said “If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re very scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhereâ€.
- Get a grip on your thoughts: whether you believe it or not your thoughts make you into the person you are. Thoughts become words and words become your character.
- Think before you speak. Regardless how sexy someone appears to be – if the lingo shocks you all sex appeal is gone instantaneously.
- Walk your talk
How to get sexy is easy when you know who you are and what you want.
“When somebody gives you a sexy look, you know they’re trying. It’s terrible! But when you smile, it’s so much sexier!â€
Joseph Addison
Think Right Now! programmes helped me get the sexy attitude!
To have a chocolate health experience switch from commercial chocolate to pure raw chocolate. Seriously if you’re concerned about chocolate having any health effects then consider for a moment that the actual cocoa bean has it’s perks but the added ingredients like cow’s milk and refined sugar cancel out the so called chocolate health benefits.
Contrary to popular belief cows milk is not healthy for people, let alone mixing it with sugar and cocoa beans that have been destroyed of their original contents. Antioxidants in cocoa beans have a positive effect but that is all. You will not find those effects in commercial chocolate. The main ingredient in commercial chocolate is cows’ milk.
It makes sense because if you think about it humans are the only ones that drink milk from some one else. Baby pigs drink pigs milk from their pig mothers. Monkeys drink monkey milk from their monkey mothers and every other animal drinks its mother’s milk. Only humans have the notion that mothers cow milk is good for them. Tons of cows milk is used to produce chocolate.
I’m one of those people that loves chocolate but at the same time I have a health awareness. So realising that commercial chocolate deposits slug into my body I had to find an alternative. Have you ever thought about what your body has to go through to digest cow’s milk, mixed with refined sugar? Uuuugghhh….doesn’t surprise me that people have so many ailments considering what they put into their bodies.
But fear not you can still eat chocolate, but get the pure and unadulterated raw chocolate.
Huh! You mean you never even knew there was such a thing?
You’re about to learn some thing new.
Let’s take a quick look at the difference of cooked cocoa powder and raw cocoa powder which is the essential ingredient in chocolatey things.
Producers use different ORAC units in their marketing, which result in confusion when one is comparing one ORAC score to another.
ORAC simply means Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity
An example to illustrating a popular confusion: both dark cocoa powder and the goji berry (the goji berry is a superfood from China) are high on the ORAC scale. Natural cocoa powder pinnacles the list with a score of 26,000. The goji berry rates mightily, with a score frequently found on the internet of 25,300. But what is creating confusion amongst end users is that the cocoa powder and the goji ORAC ratings are for 100 grams! That’s more than an average serving. If you calculate the ORAC units per gram you quickly see that dark cocoa powder is at 260 and goji is 253.
Not bad, but that’s nothing compared to the gigantic 955 ORAC Units found in each gram of raw organic cacao powder!
WOW – isn’t that fantastic? Tha’s real proof that real chocolate is a health booster!
Do the math – the raw variant contains 367% more antioxidants than the ultimate cooked version – no better proof than that! The same 100 gram scale as above, Raw Organic Cacao Powder has 95,500 ORAC units in contrast to the 26,000 in the roasted cocoa powder.
So go ahead and sin!
